Online Landscape Design

Are you a busy person who wants a beautiful garden but doesn't want to pay the usual fees? Then our online landscape design and garden design service may be just what you're looking for.

Through our online landscape design service, you can get assistance from professional, highly talented designers for a reasonable fee because you've eliminated the high cost of travel and repeated site visits. Instead, you send pictures of your property and you...

Let Us Get To Know You

Your landscape design should arise from the nature of your property and the people who live there. Any design that reflects the designer rather than you, the client, no matter how clever or attractive that design may be, is a failure. We will find the design that you are seeking, for your property, with your help.

So this is the first step in our online landscape design service - getting to know you. We don't need to know your age or your sex, your political views or religious orientation (though if you think those are important to your garden, we do). We don't even need to know your name or your address.

Tell us what you like and what you are like - what inspires you, what gives you happiness, and how you want to use your garden.

You have no doubt thought a lot about it, and perhaps you've seen images in magazines and on TV that moved you. You may have a sense of something you'd like but you feel it would be helpful to have professional advice from people who spend their lives creating gardens for others. That is why you're on this online landscape design page and that is why the page is here.

Through our online landscape design service you'll receive personal attention and devoted assistance from proven professionals whose sole intent is to give you a garden you will love. That is our commitment, and if you do not receive a design that is beyond your expectations you will not be asked to pay. Concerning which...

Design Fees

Traditionally, landscape design fees and garden design fees are calculated to be about 15% to 20% of the cost of implementation and it usually does work out to be close to that figure. However, there are two problems with that formula. First, how can you determine the cost of the implementation until the design is completely done, working drawings are completed, and bids on all the work received? You can't. So are you, the homeowner, expected to go into the design phase with anended budget? We don't think so.

The other problem is that this represents a potential conflict of interest. It's all too easy to intentionally design an expensive landscape for the sake of elevating the design fee. Which is why you will...

Know Your Costs Before You Begin

Our online landscape design service works like this. Once we know something about you and see a few pictures of your property we will tell you exactly how much the design fees will be. If you are not completely happy with the design we do, we will take it back to the drafting table. The fee will not go up. If it takes a third time (and it rarely does but it can happen), the original fee that you were quoted will remain as quoted. It will not go up and we will stay with it until you have a design you love, or we refund your deposit. This guarantee is an integral part of our online landscape design service.

For example, the figures below are typical of how you can save money by using the Online Design service as opposed to the traditional design service. (Note that by medium and small we are really referring to complexity:

On-site Design Fee Online Design Fee
Medium Sized Project:
$3,500 - $4,500

$1,500 - $2,500
Smaller Project:
$1,500 - $2,500

$850 - $1,200

There are no hidden costs, there are no catches. Our one intent is to help you achieve a beautiful garden that perfectly meets your needs and reflects your sense of aesthetics while harmonizing with your property. We do this because we can. We are good at what we do, and, as the many comments from our clients testify, we enjoy doing it. This applies as much to online landscape design as it does to on-site projects.

So Tell Us About Yourself

And if you have a family, tell us about them.

  • Do you have pets? Don't forget them. A landscape design that does not include the fact of a dog or an outdoor cat will be a landscape design that fails.

  • Do you have children? How many, what ages, and what do they like to do?

  • What does your spouse like? Sometimes spouses are very similar in their tastes and sometimes they are very different. We need to know about your spouse's tastes because you would probably be amazed at the possibilities for a unified landscape design that thoroughly pleases you both. That is the beauty of design. When properly approached, it really works.

  • Tell us how you would like to use the space, if you entertain and for how many.

  • Do you like water features?

  • Raised beds?

  • Do you want to grow vegetables?

  • Would you like to dine in the garden?

  • What are your favorite plants? Make a wish list and don't be too practical at this point. You may be surprised at how much even a small space can harmoniously contain.

You're just about ready to begin the online landscape design process. Use the blank form below to tell us everything you can think of that might help us know what you like and what you are like. Virtually everything you say, no matter what you say, will be helpful.

We've been doing this for a long time and our ability to see into and get to know someone's tastes and preferences from very little information has been honed to a fine skill. Especially when that information is accompanied by...

Pictures

Send us your pictures. These are an essential component of the online landscape design process. We need to see your space or property and the pictures you take are crucial. If you have a digital camera, great. You can email the pictures. Otherwise, please use the post.

Tips For Taking Photos:

  • Stand in one corner of your garden and take a series of pictures that will show the entire space, one picture slightly overlapping another, from that spot. Then do the same from the other corners.

  • If you have an upstairs room looking down on the garden area, take one from there too.

And don't forget to include...

A Drawing

A simple sketch, really, doesn't even need to be neat or have straight lines. Just so long as we know the dimensions of your property, how long, how wide...with the features that 'Really Must Remain' designated. But think about that because there may be a lot of seemingly 'permanent' elements that can be relocated or altogether removed, quite inexpensively. If you're in doubt, say that and we'll figure it out.

So here it is -

The Online Landscape Design Form

We've put in a few check boxes for ease and asked a few questions, like what state, region or country you live in, because they are important, especially in online landscape design work, but for the most part we'd like you to ramble. Don't be concerned with spelling, order or grammar. Just express yourself and your hopes and wishes.

Write the name you wish to be called. Once we've received the form we'll contact you by whatever means you specify and we'll go over it all. There is no commitment on your part to our online landscape design service at this point. We'll let you know the expected design fee and you can decide then if you're ready to go ahead.

Just fill in the form and click the submit button:
